Shield Dumpster Rental Spartanburg ("Shield", "we", "us", "our") operates shielddumpsterrental.com as a lead-generation and referral platform. Shield does not itself own, operate or dispatch roll-off trucks or dumpster containers. When you call, email or submit an inquiry through this website, we connect you with an independent, licensed local dumpster rental provider from our network who will contact you, quote you and, if you proceed, deliver, service and collect the container. By submitting an inquiry or booking a call you agree to these terms.

1. Our role as a referral platform

Shield is a marketing and referral service. We advertise dumpster rental availability in Spartanburg and Spartanburg County, take your inquiry, and pass your job details — the material, volume, weight, address and timing you describe — to one or more independent third-party dumpster rental providers we work with in the area. The provider you are ultimately connected with, not Shield, is the party that quotes, contracts with, delivers to, services and invoices you for the actual rental.

2. Referral compensation

Shield is compensated by a referral fee or commission paid by the provider we connect you with, in exchange for the introduction. This arrangement does not add to what you pay the provider for the rental itself. We disclose this relationship here and in our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.

3. What a flat rate typically includes

Providers in our network typically quote a flat rate covering delivery, a seven-day rental period unless otherwise agreed, collection, a stated weight allowance, disposal at a permitted facility, and applicable state and local taxes. The specific rate, terms and any additional charges are set by, and agreed directly with, the provider who services your rental — always confirm the final terms with that provider before the container is delivered.

4. Additional charges

Charges beyond a provider's flat rate typically arise only in circumstances such as: weight overage above the stated allowance; extended rental beyond the agreed period; a dry-run charge where a truck attends but cannot deliver or collect because access is blocked or the container is overloaded; relocation of a container after it has been set; and the cost of handling prohibited material placed in the container. These are matters between you and the servicing provider, disclosed by that provider at the time of booking.

5. Prohibited materials

Regardless of which provider services your rental, dumpster containers generally may not contain: liquids of any kind; wet paint, solvents, stains or adhesives; oil, fuel, antifreeze or other automotive fluids; batteries; tires; propane tanks, aerosols or pressurised cylinders; asbestos-containing material; refrigerant-containing appliances; electronics restricted from disposal under South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) guidance; medical or biological waste; ammunition or explosives; radioactive material; or anything else classed as hazardous under federal, South Carolina or local law. You remain responsible for the contents of any container placed at your site.

6. Placement, access and permits

You are responsible for ensuring the placement area is legal, safe, accessible and able to bear the weight of a loaded container and truck, and for identifying underground utilities, septic systems, wells, irrigation lines and invisible fencing — call SC811 (call 811 before you dig) before any digging. Where a container is placed on a public street or right-of-way, you are responsible for obtaining any permit required by the City of Spartanburg or the relevant municipality, and for any required signage, reflectors or barricades.

7. No liability for third-party providers

Because Shield does not itself deliver, service or collect containers, we disclaim all liability for the acts, omissions, pricing, service quality, timeliness, property damage or contractual performance of any independent provider we refer you to. Any dispute over the price charged, the condition of the container, delivery timing, property damage, or the conduct of a driver or crew is a matter between you and that provider. We will make reasonable efforts to help resolve a complaint about a referral, but we are not a party to, and assume no responsibility under, the rental agreement between you and the provider.

8. No warranty

This website and the referral service we provide are offered "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to the availability, licensing, insurance status, or fitness of any provider in our network at any given time, though we take reasonable steps to work only with independent providers who represent themselves to us as licensed and insured to haul in South Carolina.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shield's total liability arising from your use of this website or our referral service is limited to the amount, if any, you paid directly to Shield (as distinct from amounts paid to a servicing provider). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits or project delay, whether arising from our referral service or from the acts of a provider we referred you to.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Shield against claims, penalties and costs arising from prohibited material placed in a container by you or anyone at your site, from placement on land you did not have authority to use, or from your failure to obtain a required permit, in each case regardless of which provider serviced the container.

11. Force majeure

Shield is not liable for delay or failure in connecting you with a provider, or for a provider's delay or failure to perform, caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, weight restrictions imposed under South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) rules, landfill closures, equipment failure or labour disruption.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and the state and federal courts located in Spartanburg County, South Carolina shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of this website.

13. Dispute resolution

Before pursuing formal action, please contact us at (864) 754-6073 or info@shielddumpsterrental.com so we can attempt to resolve the issue informally, including by relaying it to the relevant provider. Nothing here limits either party's right to seek relief in a court of competent jurisdiction as described above.
